Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Nemaha County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to review and answer it. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive routine technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates and times
- Referring site information, when available
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The internet protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block or remove cookies. Disabling them may change how some features operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected provider
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and basic operation
- Finding and correcting performance or technical problems
- Understanding which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Nemaha County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. Its content identifies official routes to the Nemaha County Sheriff, County and District Courts, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party record or consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern data submitted through those tools. Review the applicable provider policy before entering a query because this policy does not control the provider.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Nemaha County government, Nebraska courts, State Patrol services, registry pages, legal resources, or private tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before sharing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their tracking does not run as a criminal-record database maintained here.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be handled by:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Search providers receiving a query submitted to their tool
- A government body or law-enforcement agency acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for the information collected. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and this site cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A substantiated notice that a minor supplied data will be handled with a deletion request.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. The Nebraska Public Records Statutes, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, govern records held by public bodies and do not turn this private resource into a government custodian. Section 29-3523 separately limits public dissemination of qualifying criminal-history information. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, a visitor may:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data held here
- Ask what personal information is maintained about the visitor
- Request deletion where the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of processing when an applicable right provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. The current text and a new effective date will be posted here when an update takes effect.
